We live in an age of fast-paced . Sometimes a lot of information that we see, hear , and we consider it as something that is true . However we do not fully meet all of which is true , including in the areas of leadership (leadership ) .Here are seven myths and lies about leadership ( leadership )
1 . " All managers are leaders " Truth : Some managers to lead and the other does not or can not at all . Management is part of the leadership , it does not mean they are definitely leaders .A clever manager to coordinate , monitor and maintain systems and processes . They employ people . But if they can not bring better performance then they are not real leaders .Leadership always involves change , improvement and growth .
2 . " A person born to be a leader " Truth : A person with a tendency to lead genetically - must learn the skills of leadership .A young man who has a height of 180 cm has a tendency ( talent ) to play basketball , but he still needs to learn the skills before they can play successfully . This also applies to almost anything .
3 . " The leader is always right " Truth : Leaders ask the right questions and know where to find the best answer .If there are several people ask us , then we basically invite them to think creatively to find solutions together . But if they continue to ask the same question , then basically nothing 'wrong ' with us .
4 . " You need a degree to lead the " Truth : to lead you just need to know when it is appropriate to do and how to do it .When I go to a restaurant , most of the people I met did not have an official title ( academic degree ) or power over others , but they are responsible for creating the best experience to all visitors of the restaurant . A staff ( employees ) are both willing to lead , and may be less valuable than the official leaders on it .Leadership is about making some things for the better , and the best organization to teach all people to take responsibility to lead .
5 . " Leaders focused " Truth : The leader creates a shared focus .If there is a team that is not focused , then something is wrong with the leaders . A manager is usually focused , but a leader creates a shared focus and not wasting resources by allowing team members to do the job is not important .The focus is on self- responsibility and discipline . Creating a shared focus is about involving others in the leadership agenda and make it essential to their work .
6 . " Leadership is about ambition " Truth : leadership is about good and not ambition .There is nothing wrong with ambition . If what you do is serve yourself, then you are not a true leader .When other people are better served , be they customers , colleagues , vendors , the community , then it is a sign of good leadership and effective .
7 . " Anyone can lead the " Truth : No one can lead if they do not have the desire to do so .We can not invite others to do what we want , if we do not explain to them why we should follow . So is everyone else . Leading is about understanding why they should do it . Some people actually prefer to lead , and not willing if given the power to lead .
