indeed tea has long been known efficacious for maintaining health . According to research , there are at least 450 compounds in tea ranging from caffeine , various types of antioxidants and vitamins are known to be beneficial for the body .
There have been many research evidence reveals how the habit of drinking tea will make you healthy and fit . One is a new research in France , which proves that the tea is very useful to keep the blood vessels and heart health , especially for women .
Dr. Mahmoud Zureik and colleagues from the French National Institute for Medical Research , reported findings that adult women who drank tea will gain protection from the risk of plaque formation in the arteries in the neck , so it likely suffered a stroke and heart disease .
Women who got more protection against the formation of these plaques are those who drank at least three cups of tea every day . As published in jurrnal Arteriosclerosis , Thrombosis and Vascular Biology , protection against plaque formation was recorded was greater in women who often drink tea than those who drank little.
To come to the conclusion , Zureik and his team analyzed the results of carotid artery plaque measurement using ultrasound in 2613 men and 3984 women whose average age was 73 years . Researchers also conducted personal interviews to participants between 1999 and 2001 to determine the habit of drinking tea , food , history of disease .
Once analyzed , the researchers found the presence of carotid plaques in approximately 44 percent of women who did not drink tea , as much as 42.5 per cent who drank one to two cups per day , and only 33.7 percent who drank 3 or more cups per day .
Researchers note , the lack of association between carotid plaque cases with increased consumption of tea per day was not affected or free from a number of factors such as dietary habits , risk factors for vascular disease , age , region of residence , and education level .One other thing that is not less important is the relationship of tea consumption with the formation of plaque in the arteries was not found in men . ¨ There is no relationship between tea consumption with carotid plaque formation in men , ¨ he said .
In this study , researchers did not collect data on the type of tea consumed or the duration of tea drinking among participants . Researchers were not able to ascertain why the relationship appears limited to women and not in men ,
