consume fruits Lowering Risk of Diabetes

No secret that the fruit has many health benefits . Recent research indicates an association of fruit consumption with reduced risk of type 2 diabetes . But what kind of fruit that could potentially reduce the risk of the disease ?
Researchers from the Harvard School of Public Health research report published in the British Medical Journal ( BMJ ) online edition August 29 issue states eating habits fruits eaten whole (whole fruits ) , especially blueberries , grapes , and apples are associated with lower risk of diabetes 2 . Meanwhile , the consumption of fruit juice can actually increase the risk of developing the disease .
" Previous findings showed varying results for total fruit consumption . Research we provide new evidence that indicates a particular type of fruit that may have particular benefit in reducing the risk of diabetes , " says researcher Qi Sun assistant professor of the Department of Nutrition at the Harvard School of Public Health .
In the study, researchers conducted an analysis of 190 thousand respondents who followed three separate studies between 1984 to 2008. The respondent did not have diabetes , cardiovascular , or cancer . At the end of the study , as many as 7 percent of those diagnosed with diabetes .
According to the analysis the researcher , respondents who ate blueberries , grapes , and apples twice a week , 23 percent lower risk of developing diabetes than those who ate fruit 2 no more than once a month . Respondents who consumed fruit in the form of juice once a day or more , it is 21 per cent higher risk of developing type 2 diabetes than others .
Researchers believe , this difference may be caused by other factors beyond the consumption of fruit and juice . It may be that respondents who ate certain fruits have a resemblance to one another , thus affecting their risk for diabetes .
" Our data further recommended to eat fruits for diabetes prevention , but not the juice , " said lead researcher , Isao Muraki , of the department of nutrition at Harvard School of Public Health .
Muraki hopes , new findings in this research can help improve the recommendation for the prevention of type 2 diabetes .
